A retired/disabled veteran, Commissioner Larry Brinson, Sr. served more than 20 years in the Marine Corps. He worked at the Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps in the Pentagon. There, he managed human resources, training and worldwide assignment of more than 4,000 people and managing hundreds of millions of dollars in budgets. He was also a Defense Industry Program Team member for the development and acquisition of new communications/radar technology and equipment.
Additionally, Commissioner Brinson was the Assistant Director of Security at U.S. embassies in Africa and Israel, working directly with the U.S. State Department, providing internal security and protection services for the U.S. Secretary of State, Deputy U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, U.S. Secretary of Defense and U.S. Diplomats. He was formerly, the VP of Business Development with Cornerstone Financial Strategies; a financial services company focusing on religious and non-profit organizations and small businesses. There he focused on developing corporate and retirement strategies for clergy, non-profit organizations and small businesses.
With more than 30 years of community involvement experience, affiliations with various groups including, the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Operation Positive Direction, and task forces geared at empowering our youth, Commissioner Brinson has mentored and molded youth from Southern California to Washington D.C. to Orlando.
Currently, Commissioner Brinson works for the Orlando Police Department where he oversees Mail Services and Inventory Control matters. Commissioner Brinson sees himself as “semi-retired”, with an emphasis on “semi”; because there is always something to do!
