Downtown Master Stormwater Pond & Park

Located on Cumberland Avenue south of Franklin Street.

This nearly 5-acre park is designed to serve as a master stormwater pond for the City’s downtown core, while creating a quiet natural place for our citizens and guests to visit. This Park includes a naturalized creek, filtration pond that cleans stormwater before flowing to Starke Lake, boardwalks, paths, small performance green, and native gardens.

The following provides an overview of the construction project.

Date Started:    Fall of 2021
Est. Completion Date: Late Summer of 2022

Interesting Facts and Current Construction Activities:

•    Contractor is in the process of constructing over 3,000 linear feet of retaining wall that will line the stormwater pond.
•    When completed the park’s landscape will consist of 100% native plants.
