Ocoee MLK Day Parade and Celebration to be held on January 21

The City of Ocoee’s 13th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Parade and Celebration will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10 a.m.

The City of Ocoee’s 13th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Parade and Celebration will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 10 a.m.


The parade, presented by the City of Ocoee’s Human Relations Diversity Board, honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The parade begins at Citrus Elementary School, 87 North Clarke Road, and ends at the parking lot of the West Oaks Mall on Clarke Road.


The post-parade celebration will take place in the West Oaks Mall food court at 11 a.m. Ocoee Commissioner George Oliver III will be the keynote speaker. Commissioner Oliver, the city’s first African-American commissioner, was elected on March 13, 2018. Gospel singer and Ocoee resident, Sherri Gladney and young musical talent Charisma Tran, Miss American Victory 2018, will perform.
