Responsibilities
The Property and Evidence Unit is made up of one full-time civilian employee. The unit is in charge of the custody of property from impounding to disposition.
The unit receives and stores thousands of pieces of property and transports items to the FDLE crime lab each week for forensic analysis.
Grant
The position was acquired with a "COPS MORE" Grant.
Release of Firearms
A court order will be required for the release of your firearm per Florida State Statute.
Per Florida State Statute (FSS) 933.14(3), no pistol or firearm taken by any officer with a search warrant or without a search warrant upon a view by the officer of a breach of the peace shall be returned except pursuant to an order of a circuit judge or a county court judge.
