| City Of Ocoee Fire Explorers Program |
 |
The Ocoee Fire Explorer program was created to
introduce young men and women to the Fire Service.
The program is designed to teach the youth the different
aspects of the profession and further help to improve
relationships with other public service personnel.
|
Fire Explorers are not required to be City of Ocoee
residents. However, the following conditions must be
met:
-
Be between 14 – 21 years of age
-
Must have completed 8th grade
-
Have good moral character
-
Maintain a grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0
scale
-

Explorers who have been accepted into the program
will undergo a three-month probationary process. During
this time, the Explorer will be required to display an
understanding of the fire service and basic fire
department organizational structure. Experienced
firefighters as well as seasoned Explorers will deliver
instructional materials.
After the probationary period, the Explorer will be
eligible to participate in ride-a-longs, camping trips,

will also be a rank structure within the Explorer
